The outdoor area at Moss Boss Studios had to reflect our team’s creative talents, signature materials and plant selections, and the harmony between function and design
“Borrowed bush landscape backdrop”
Tasked with capturing our ethos within 50 square meters, this design incorporates elements for optimal usage and depth. Naturally inviting social gatherings is the wood fired oven and concrete bench space. Sandstone pavers surrounded by dichondra and banksia ‘Roller Coaster’ ground coverings lead guests to the curved wooden seat and fire pit.
Fast-growing ‘Straight & Narrow’ lilly pillies will soon provide a noise and visual barrier from the main road, and connect the space to the borrowed bush landscape backdrop from the nearby reserve. Road-side, the fencing features timber-framed signage crafted by our construction team. Back in the courtyard and nestled between grass trees and banksias stands our staff-favourite and one of only a few deciduous natives, the Queensland bottle tree.
From uninspiring shared walk-through enclosure to curated outdoor sanctuary, the Moss Boss Studio courtyard has been transformed into a purposeful space for staff to relax, find inspiration and hold social events. Want to see for yourself? We’re open to the public by appointment, so get in touch and stop by!
